I've got a MacBook Air that's still running well, but my battery health is in the low 80s. I wanted to renew my AppleCare coverage, and my settings showed I had until Saturday to do it. I figured I was still in the clear, but when I tried to renew last night (Friday), the option had expired! I spent a good hour and a half chatting with Apple Support, but they won't honor the renewal offer. They only offered to escalate my case, but I can't even communicate with the supervisor. They blamed a technical issue, which feels like it should be their responsibility to fix. What other options do I have now?

Honestly, this happens sometimes. It’s a case of "poor planning on your part doesn’t constitute an emergency on theirs." Just keep pushing for what you need, and maybe you'll get a different rep that can help.
Did you actually call Apple Support or just rely on chat? Phone support typically has more resources and capabilities. If you haven’t called yet, you may want to try that instead.
One thing I've learned is that being polite and calm with customer support often gets you further, so keep that in mind when you contact them again. It's worth a shot!
I assure you, I'm staying calm during all of this!
I did both last night, but it seems like the chat wasn't effective.
