Why is my new laptop charger causing game lag?

Hey everyone! I've got a Lenovo Ideapad L3 15IML05, and I recently replaced my original charger with a secondhand one that was made for a Lenovo Ideapad 520 15IKB. The specs for both chargers are almost the same, but since switching to the new charger, I've noticed some major lag issues while playing League of Legends. My FPS will drop to about 10 after a few minutes of gaming and then vary between 30 and 10 every few minutes. This only happens when the charger is plugged in; when I switch to battery power, the game runs perfectly.

I'm curious about a few things:
1. Why is this lag happening even with similar specs?
2. Could the replacement charger have lower power despite the similar numbers?
3. Is there any setting I should tweak because I'm using a different charger?
4. What should my next steps be?

Thanks for reading my long post, and I would really appreciate any advice you can offer!

It sounds like your replacement charger might be a lower wattage version, possibly around 45W instead of the original 65W. Even though both have similar output amperage, the total power delivery could be unstable with the new charger. That could definitely cause the lag you're experiencing when gaming.

But the other charger is clearly rated for 65W! How can it be 45W? It just doesn't add up since the specs are almost the same, right? What can I check to figure it out?
