What Are the Best Options for Video Wallpaper on Linux?

I'm currently using Linux Mint and I've been testing various programs to set up video wallpapers, but I've had mixed results. The best one so far seems to be Wallset, but the frame rate leaves a lot to be desired. I also tried Hidimari, which works fine in theory, but it feels like I have to watch a video on my desktop and can't interact with other windows unless I close it. Does anyone have better suggestions or tips?

Wallset is fun! I once had a cool video of spaceships docking at a space station—it looked awesome!

If you really want to boost your battery life, maybe consider skipping the animated wallpapers altogether. Just my two cents!

I’m not sure about your setup, but Linux is all about customization! I’ve heard that GLava, mpvpaper, and Komerobi are great for video wallpapers. KDE even has some built-in options that are pretty nice. Just saying, it can be a unique experience!

Video wallpapers can eat up a lot of your CPU and GPU resources. I don’t really see the point myself, but if you enjoy them, go for it!

Why not? I like having video backgrounds—it adds flair!
