How Does Billing Work for Azure Files Storage?

I'm a bit confused about Azure Files' pay-as-you-go pricing, especially regarding how they bill for storage. Can someone explain what the minimum billing unit is? For example, if I store 100 GB in Azure Files for just one hour and then nothing for the rest of the month, how would the charges work out?

From what I've seen, the charges for Azure Files are based on per GB per hour, not a flat monthly rate. So if you're storing 100 GB, you'd be looking at about $0.000137 per GB per hour. That means for that hour, you'd pay roughly $0.0137 for the storage. Just keep an eye on how much data you keep because the costs can add up quickly. There are also extra costs for outbound data transfers beyond the free tier, which can go from $0.08 to $0.12 per GB after the first 100 GB.

I appreciate the breakdown! I wasn't sure how those per hour rates worked. Thanks!
