I'm in search of a reliable software reseller to purchase licensing from. My previous experience with SoftwareOne has been really frustrating—there have been constant issues like slow service, incorrect monthly invoices, and a lack of urgency in resolving problems. Additionally, my account isn't even linked to my portal after their recent upgrade to v3. I'm considering SHI since they carry every software we use, but I'm wondering if they're genuinely a good option. We typically spend around $400k annually on software, so I want to ensure I choose a partner who can deliver smoothly.

In the UK, we mainly use Westcoast Cloud for our software needs, particularly for Microsoft products.
We utilize two VARs—CDW and Insight—and usually compare them to get the best pricing. However, our rep at Insight is way more personable, so they often end up winning our business.
We go with CDW for our software needs. It's super convenient for Microsoft licensing because once we establish an agreement, I can just log in and add licenses myself, and they usually get provisioned in a couple of hours. This is really helpful when I'm under pressure to get things set up quickly for new employees.
We used to buy from SHI but switched to CDW because our SHI rep was really unhelpful. CDW has been much better overall, not perfect but definitely an improvement. You might want to give SHI another shot—it’s been a decade since we left, and they might have improved since then.
Absolutely, we generally go through SHI or Insight when we can. They seem to have better account reps for various companies than we could get on our own.
There's this questionable guy I know who sells software cheap on the corner of West and Pineview... but that's a risky bet! Honestly, we usually go through our VAR or CSP, depending on pricing and what we need at the time. OEM can be a good option too, depending on the situation.
I've heard mixed things about Westcoast, though—seems their reputation isn’t the best over here.
