Are Website Templates Still a Good Source of Passive Income?

I've been contemplating creating a collection of 8-10 high-quality static website templates and setting up a simple shop for people to buy them. Given my extensive experience as a developer, I plan to ensure these templates are top-notch and priced accordingly. However, with so many templates available online today, I'm wondering if it's still worth pursuing this idea for passive income. What are your thoughts?

There's definitely demand for pre-built templates, especially within niche markets like small businesses. Most available templates aren't catering to the needs of these businesses, so if you can deliver quality designs, you're likely to attract buyers. Tailwinds with modern tech stacks could be your selling point!

The link you posted for that theme package leads to a 404. Just a heads up!

Success in this field hinges on good marketing. Don’t worry too much about competition or AI developments; focus on honing your skills and connecting with your audience. If you do well in those areas, your work will pay off over time.

If you have expertise in a specific niche or modern tech stack and can create truly superior templates, there's still money to be made. Keep in mind, though, that building a business takes ongoing effort, so it's not as simple as setting it and forgetting it.

Better to try and earn some passive income than to do nothing! Even if sales are low, having real products can help enhance your portfolio significantly, which is always a plus.
