Why Do My Microsoft Products Say I’m Offline When I’m Using Ethernet?

I'm having issues with all my Microsoft applications, like Halo and Minecraft, constantly telling me I'm offline. They fail to sign me in and I see the error code 0x80074cf. This doesn't make sense because I'm connected via Ethernet, and I've already tried resetting both my router and PC without success. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

Have you checked if you can actually browse the internet? Also, make sure there's no firewall—either local or network—that's blocking your access.

If some websites load fine but Microsoft ones don’t, your DNS settings could be the issue. If you've done any ad-blocking or telemetry-blocking, it might have modified your hosts file.

It might help to know your network's IP subnet. Are you using something like 10.0.0.0/24 or 192.168.0.0/16? Sometimes the subnet can cause issues if it’s misconfigured.
