I've got a MacBook Pro from my old consulting gig, and my recruiter and the company never asked for it back. The problem is, I can't wipe it because it has a proprietary password that I can't change. So I'm stuck! What are my options here? Should I reach out to them one last time, or is there something else I can do with this laptop?

If I were in your shoes, I would try reaching out one more time via email to see if the company wants the laptop back or if it's okay for you to keep it. Having a paper trail is helpful! If they want it back, ask them the best way to return it. But if they say you can keep it, request that they remove it from their Apple account so you can reset it. Apple won’t help with a reset without the owner's approval, unfortunately!

That’s a good idea, but honestly, I don’t even know whom to contact anymore since the team has changed a lot in two years.
