I've been working primarily in help desk roles and I'm looking to move away from that. Recently, I asked the security department at my job if I could help out with some tasks to gain more experience. They offered me a position focused on using Puppet for server configuration management, along with other security-related responsibilities. Although I participated in Puppet training, I haven't done much programming since graduating with a computer science degree a few years ago. I'm worried that I might not be able to handle the role well, and I'm hesitant because my pay might not increase. Should I take this opportunity even if I feel underqualified? I think I'll be more motivated in this new role, but I'm unsure about making this leap.
