Is the High Performance Power Plan Really Worth It?

I'm considering different power plans for my system and I'm curious whether the High or Ultimate Performance plan is actually worth setting up. A lot of guides suggest setting the minimum and maximum processor state to 100%, but that feels a bit off to me. I want to squeeze out maximum performance, but I'd also like some clarity on the best settings. Currently, my CPU clock speeds are at 5.00GHz with only about 10% utilization. I have an AMD 9600X and a 2080 Super, and I'm not sure if that utilization is fine. What do you all recommend?

The Balanced plan is totally fine! Your CPU will ramp up the clock speeds when necessary. So as long as you're not losing any performance, sticking with Balanced means you're getting the same performance as High Performance, just with better efficiency. That sounds like a win to me!

From my experience, Balanced or High Performance plans work just fine. With Balanced, you might even get better efficiency since it doesn't keep the CPU and GPU clocks running high all the time when they aren’t needed. As long as you avoid the Power Saver plan, you should be good to go!

Honestly, I wouldn't mess with it. Just stick with the default settings—AMD tends to optimize performance right out of the box. Keeping everything on default has worked well for me.

Is there any source for that? I'd like to know more.
