Hey everyone,
I recently had my battery replaced at a store that claimed to be Apple certified. Initially, I thought they seemed reliable, but ever since the replacement, my battery performance hasn't been great. They wouldn't show me the battery's packaging, but they offered to install a different one which performed slightly better, but something still feels off. My battery health shows as 100%, but I've heard that can be faked too.
I looked at some analytics data and noticed some concerning metrics:
- "last_value_BatteryHealthMetric":127
- "last_value_BatterySerialChanged":true
- "last_value_AppleRawMaxCapacity":3183
- "last_value_CycleCount":0
I don't fully understand what these mean and I'm really hoping someone here can help me figure out if I might have been scammed.

From my experience, when I got my battery replaced at an Apple store, they noted it in the battery submenu under settings. If your service provider didn't do that, it’s unusual. Keep an eye on the performance and if it doesn't improve, you may want to reach out to Apple directly.
You could check if the shop is listed as an Apple Authorized Service Provider. It's crucial because only they can use genuine parts and follow Apple's repair practices. You can find a list of authorized service providers on Apple's official support site. If they’re not listed, that's a red flag!
Yeah, they’re not listed there. The guy told me he’s about to get approved, but I just want to confirm if I got ripped off to file a proper complaint.
