Why are there unauthorized PayPal payments from my card?

I'm really stressed out right now. Earlier today, I noticed three PayPal payments that were made using my card without my knowledge or consent. This has taken a huge hit on my savings. I've already reported this to PayPal and changed my password, but I'm left wondering how this even happened. I haven't downloaded anything suspicious, ignored unknown emails, and never shared my credit card information with any dubious sites. How could someone access my PayPal account and charge my card? I'm worried about whether I'll get my money back and how they managed to steal it in the first place. Can anyone explain how this could have happened?

I removed my PayPal account years ago because I didn’t trust them with my financial info. It’s just not worth the risk if you don’t feel secure.

Wait, which card are you talking about? Are there actual PayPal cards or something?

It's my debit card, that's what got charged.

There was a recent security breach at PayPal which exposed some users' login credentials. So if you haven't changed your password yet, now's definitely the time! It's important to keep your information secure.

Yeah, make sure you change it right away!

You need to contact PayPal immediately and inform them that those charges were not made by you. They may freeze your account while they investigate. It's also a good idea to put a hold on your card with your bank so it can’t be used anymore. Just make sure to mention the fraudulent charges to your bank too. They'll guide you through the process.

I did report the transaction already, just scared about my money.
