I recently created a new AWS account after the new pricing changes on July 15. For educational purposes, I spun up a t3.micro instance for about 30 minutes and then terminated it. When I checked my billing the next day, I noticed a strange $0.01 charge under EC2. I thought the t3.micro was included in the free tier, which offers 750 hours per month. Is this charge just a rounding error, or am I actually being billed for something?

It might be due to burst performance. T3 instances operate in unlimited mode by default, which allows them to use more CPU credits instead of throttling performance. Even during free tier usage, you could get charged for those bursts. You can switch off unlimited mode in your instance settings if you want to avoid charges.
Hey there, sorry to hear about the confusion with Free Tier charges! You can check out this guide that helps you track down any resources that might be generating costs: http://go.aws/resources-unexpected-charges. If you still have questions, the AWS Billing team can help clarify things regarding your usage and charges.
Did you use an Elastic IP? That can sometimes incur charges even if your instance is free.
