My brother forgot his iPhone's password and after guessing several times, the phone is now disabled for an hour. On top of that, he has also forgotten his Apple ID and password, and can't remember which email he used. We're in a real bind and need to get into the phone. Is there any way to reset it without having that information?

If the activation lock is enabled, you'll need the Apple ID to access the phone after erasing it. It's crucial for him to try and remember those details. Without them, you might need to provide a proof of purchase to Apple to get around this.
You can erase the phone, but make sure you have the original proof of purchase handy when you contact Apple. They can help with the activation lock if you can show you own the device.
You can't really bypass it without erasing. But after erasing, if you don't have the Apple ID, you're stuck. I've heard you need to input the Apple ID to set it up again, so you'd still be in trouble without that info.

Exactly! We were confused because we thought erasing it would solve everything. Now I see it's complicated without the Apple ID.
