Hey everyone! My friend is selling his old RTX 3080 10GB for a really good price, and I'm currently using an RTX 3060 12GB. I'm wondering if there's a significant advantage to upgrading to the 3080 now, or if I should hold off and wait for the upcoming 5060 or maybe even the 6060, if it gets released soon. What do you all think?

It really depends on the price! If your friend's letting it go for a sweet deal, you could grab the 3080, sell your 3060, and it might end up costing you next to nothing!
Go for the 3080 if it's a great price! It should outperform the 5060 and is still a strong card in its own right, especially if you're on an older platform. Just be cautious, as there might be some compatibility issues with newer cards too.
Totally agree! Plus, if you're sticking with your i7 9700K, the 3080 makes way more sense right now.
Honestly, it all comes down to the price and availability of new models. While the 3080 is still solid, don’t expect the 6060 anytime soon, so if the deal's right, it might be worth it.
True, but are you considering how the 5060 Ti stacks up in terms of pricing? It might be quite a bit more!

That's a solid plan! You can always look at it as a temporary upgrade while making some cash on your old card.
