I'm currently using a midrange PC build from 2020, and I'm looking to upgrade for better performance and longevity. I'm set on getting the RTX 5070 Ti, but I'm torn between upgrading to the Ryzen 5 9600X or opting for the 7800X3D. I found a deal on a Ryzen 5 9600X bundle with a motherboard and 16GB DDR5 RAM for about $400, which seems great. I've heard that the 7800X3D is excellent for gaming but costs around $150 more and has a higher thermal design power (TDP). As for my current setup, I'm aiming for consistent 60-120 FPS at 1080p on high settings for AAA games, with worries about CPU bottlenecking. Most of my use is for gaming, but I do some light productivity work in Photoshop and Premiere. Also, I'm unsure about the necessity of a higher-end motherboard and if I can find a decent one for around $120-$150. Any advice on the CPU and motherboard choices?

If you're mainly gaming, I'd recommend going for the 7800X3D, especially since it utilizes the 3D V-Cache. It can provide a noticeable boost in performance for CPU-intensive games, making it worth considering even with the higher price tag. You'll likely enjoy better frame rates over time, especially for newer titles that really test your system.
How much of a performance increase do you think the 3D V-Cache actually gives? Is it a consistent 20% across the board, or does it really depend on the specific games?
