I'm looking to upgrade from my 4060 with 8GB of RAM. I mainly play games like CS and PUBG, but I'm also looking forward to the new Battlefield 6. I'm curious if the extra 16GB of VRAM on the 5060ti can make up for the power advantage of the 5070, especially at 1440p resolutions.

At 1440p, the 5070 is definitely the way to go. While the VRAM concern is valid, it's kind of overstated. In three years, you might have to lower the textures from ultra to high, but that will likely be better for your frame rates rather than sticking with a lower-performing card.
