Hey everyone! I'm really passionate about computers, but I'm struggling to transition to Linux. I've spent a lot of time using Windows (like versions 98, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, and 11), and I find Linux, especially Ubuntu, to be quite challenging to get used to. My manager always talks about how much easier Linux is, but I'm having a tough time seeing that. I believe some of it might come down to the apps themselves not being as user-friendly. I'm not great with code either; I can barely remember basic commands like 'sudo apt install.' I'd really appreciate any tips or resources that could help me get the hang of using Linux better. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

What specific apps are giving you trouble? I can recommend some alternatives! Switching platforms is always a challenge, but with time and practice, you’ll adapt. Think of it like going from Windows to Mac; it takes time to get used to the differences.
I think you're underestimating how much you've picked up over the years on Windows. Transitioning from Windows to Linux can be rough because you have all those habits ingrained. I suggest checking out some introductory books, like the Linux Essentials. They're quite helpful!
You're right; I've definitely adjusted to so many Windows versions, so bad habits are a big part of it! Thanks for the resource—I'll check it out!
Have you checked out the migration page on the Linux4Noobs wiki? It has some great tips for transitioning from Windows. Remember, only use root access when absolutely necessary, and be cautious about third-party apps. It’s a bit of a learning curve, but you’ll get there!

I mostly had issues setting up VMs, and I just gave up because it felt too complicated.
