Hey everyone! I've been a bit out of the loop with PC building for the last four years since my last build, and I'm currently using an ASUS PRIM Z490-P motherboard, an Intel i5 10600K CPU, and an RTX 2060 GPU. While this setup has served me well, I'm starting to think about upgrading and getting a new GPU. I'm considering the RTX 3080, but I'm wondering if it's worth it given that my motherboard is older and only supports PCI 3.0, and I'm not ready to upgrade it or the CPU yet. I normally game at 1080p on a 160Hz monitor. Games like Rainbow Six Siege and CS don't really push the limits of my current setup, but I've faced performance issues with the new Doom: The Dark Ages where I had to reduce graphics settings to get 60fps. Any thoughts on whether moving from an RTX 2060 to an RTX 3080 would be a noticeable improvement?

Upgrading to a 3080 is sweet, but make sure to consider the price. How much will it set you back?
Your 10600K is still a solid CPU, and pairing it with the 3080 sounds like a great choice. You should see a nice jump in performance that makes gaming much smoother and more enjoyable.
Yes, upgrading to an RTX 3080 would be a huge boost for your gaming experience. You'll definitely notice a significant improvement over the 2060, especially in newer games that are more demanding. Even if you're playing primarily at 1080p, the upgrade will help with higher frame rates and better graphics settings!

If I'm lucky, I can snag an INNO3D GeForce RTX 3080 X3 LHR BULK for around 450 USD. But living in Hungary complicates things since Amazon and other online shops come with import taxes!
