Should I Go for a WiFi Card or Ethernet Cable?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an i7-7700K with 16GB of DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RAM, a Be Quiet cooler, and a Bronze 500W PSU, along with a GTX 1050 LP. I need a reliable internet connection, but I'm stuck deciding between getting a good WiFi card or USB adapter versus an Ethernet cable. The only cable available in my room is currently being used by my brother, and to add to that, I've pretty much gone broke after purchasing all the PC parts. What do you think I should do?

If you're looking for a stable connection, I'd recommend going for an Ethernet switch. You can find one for about $20, which would let both you and your brother connect to the same cable. This is generally way better than any Wi-Fi option you might find!

Do you have any specific switch recommendations? I have an optic cable at home, so just wondering what would work best.
