Am I Protected Enough from Malware on My PC?

I'm pretty savvy with tech, but malware always makes me uneasy, so I'm looking for some advice on how to keep my computer safer. I'm on Windows 10, and wiping my entire OS would be a nightmare for me. Right now, I have a premium subscription to Malwarebytes for real-time protection, and I also use Hitman Pro to scan for anything that might slip past it, which so far comes up clean. My computer seems to be running fine, and I don't suspect any infections at the moment, but what do you recommend for enhancing my device's protection? Is there a better option than the software I'm currently using? Thanks!

Make sure your system is up to date and clean out any apps you don't use. Also, consider backing up your system so you won't stress if you ever need to wipe it. Having backups and keeping everything organized can save you a lot of grief in the long run!

Honestly, just keep avoiding sketchy downloads and you'll be fine! Windows Defender is actually pretty solid these days and it's free. Using Malwarebytes for manual scans is a smart backup plan if you’re careful about what you install.

I've found that many paid security tools can be a little sketchy themselves, so as long as you're being smart about what you click on, the built-in Windows Defender usually handles everything well enough. Just remember, you're your own best defense!

Upgrading to Windows 11 could improve security too! I had some compatibility issues before, but if you can make it work, it might be worth it. And as for that VPN you mentioned, it doesn't help with malware directly, so don’t worry too much about that.
