How Should I Adjust My CPU and Case Fan Curves?

I'm looking to fine-tune my fan curves for better performance. Should I set my CPU fan curve to a higher speed than the case fans, or should they generally match? What's your advice on optimizing these fan settings?

I keep my case fans running at max speed without being too noisy, and my CPU fan follows a specific curve. If you want good control, check out FanControl by Rem0o—it’s really helpful.

Got it! So the case fans are constant and only the CPU has a curve. Thanks for the tip!

It's really up to your setup and how you use your PC. If you're just gaming or doing light tasks, you can run the same fan curves for both the CPU and case fans. However, remember that the CPU temperature may rise with the workload, while case temperatures can fluctuate due to GPU activity as well.

It depends on how warm you're okay with your CPU running and how loud you can tolerate the fans to be. A common approach is to set all your fans to a baseline speed—like 50% from 0°C to your desired CPU temperature (somewhere around 60°C works for me). You can tweak it from there if things are still too loud during idle.

So yours are all at 50% until that point? That's a neat solution!
