Why do my internet speeds drop until I unplug and replug my Ethernet cable?

I've been experiencing a frustrating issue where my internet speeds drop significantly and I also face DNS problems, like certain websites not loading at all. The only temporary fixes I've found are either unplugging and re-plugging the Ethernet cable at my switch or on my computer, or using USB tethering from my phone, which isn't ideal as the WiFi speeds through my phone aren't great either. I've already tried using the network adapter troubleshooter and checked my network drivers. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this problem or how to fix it? For context, my motherboard is an A520m-hvs from Asrock. Also, there are other computers connected to the same switch, but mine seems to be the only one with this issue.

Have you tried using a different Ethernet cable? Sometimes, a tiny issue with one of the wires might cause these kinds of problems. It's worth testing a new cable to see if that helps.

I'll give that a shot. But I'm curious, wouldn't a bad cable just make the internet consistently terrible instead of it getting better temporarily after re-plugging?
