Hey everyone! I'm looking to set up my Asrock J3355M system for some web browsing and local media consumption. My specs are: an Intel Dual Core J3355 CPU with a boost clock of 2.5GHz, 16GB of DDR3 RAM, an MSI 710 GT 2GB GPU, and a 120GB SATA SSD for storage. With these specs, what Linux distribution would you recommend for a smooth experience on this low-end machine?

Your specs are pretty decent for a low-end system! I'd recommend trying Debian with a lightweight desktop like LXQT or XFCE. Lighter versions like Sparky or even MX Linux are also good. Just remember, while your CPU might be a bit slow, your RAM and SSD will help out a lot!
Wait, you consider that low-end? I’m over here with no GPU and just 8 GB of RAM!
If you're looking for more distro options, check out a variety of links I've got here. They cover lots of different situations for choosing a Linux distro!
These links are great! I’ll dig through them before making a decision!
MX Linux is a solid choice, just what you need for your setup! It's lightweight and runs well on less powerful systems.
Have you considered Solus? It works nicely on low-end machines, but make sure to check if your GPU can handle the legacy drivers. It should handle your Wi-Fi well too!

I’ve had good experiences with Debian on older hardware too! Thanks for the suggestions!
