Why is my M.2 SSD hitting 70°C while idle?

I have a Kingston NV3 M.2 SSD that's connected to an Asus TUF B650M-Plus motherboard. I just noticed that its temperature is sitting at 70°C, even while I'm just watching a YouTube video. I was already concerned about the temperatures, and seeing this makes me worry. The SSD is mounted on a heatsink, so I'm not sure why it's running so hot. Any advice on what to do?

You should check how hot the SSD gets under load with a tool like CrystalDiskMark. Also, consider the airflow in your case—it's really important for cooling!

Whoa, mine hit 94°C under load. That's wild!

I have two front intake fans and two back exhaust fans, so it should be okay.

Try using Crystal Disk Info to check your SSD's health. It can give you insights about the temperature sensors. Make sure everything is running smoothly!

I checked and everything looks fine on my end.

In Crystal Disk Info, I see sensor 1 at 72°C, sensor 2 at 62°C, and sensor 3 at 45°C.
