How can I improve my BF6 FPS performance?

I'm currently running Battlefield 6 with an Intel i5-13500 CPU, an RTX 3060 GPU, and 32GB of Kingston Fury Beast RAM at 3200MHz in single channel mode. My motherboard is the ROG STRIX B760-A Gaming Wifi D4. I'm aiming for over 90 FPS on low settings, but the game suffers from significant CPU bottlenecking—I'm averaging around 50 FPS, especially in core game modes with more players. I'm using low settings along with DLSS performance. I've seen benchmark videos showing that weaker CPUs perform better than mine, so I'm wondering if switching to dual-channel RAM would make a noticeable difference in FPS.

My advice: first, switch to dual-channel RAM. Once you do that, consider upgrading the 3060 for better overall performance.

To really tackle that CPU bottleneck, you’ll likely need to upgrade your CPU. BF6 performs best with processors like the 7800X3D for hitting 144+ FPS. It sounds ridiculous, but the game really favors CPUs that can handle multiple cores well.

Exactly! The Frostbite engine shines when utilizing all CPU cores, hence why Battlefield 6 is CPU-intensive. If your current CPU isn't cutting it, that makes sense.

I have a 7700 non X model, and it has no trouble reaching 144+ FPS at all. It's a solid CPU for these types of games.

Don't forget the 9800X3D recommendation! It’ll definitely help with gaming, but keep in mind you’d need a new motherboard for it.

True, but the performance boost may be well worth the cost of a new motherboard!

First off, you're on DDR4, which is slower, even more so since it’s in single channel mode—this hampers memory throughput. Also, check your CPU cooling setup. If it’s overheating, that could throttle performance. Lastly, what storage are you using? NVMe drives help a lot! After addressing those, think about upgrading your GPU; the 3060 is decent, but it may not be fast enough.

Yes! I have NVMe storage too, and if there haven’t been overheating signs, you might need to prioritize upgrading that RAM.

Good point! But if your CPU is hitting around 4.8GHz, you might be okay on the cooling front. Are you confirming that your RAM is the bottleneck?
