How can I bypass dorm internet restrictions on multiple devices?

I'm dealing with a frustrating situation in my dorm where I'm only allowed to connect one device to the internet at a time. I tried using my phone as a hotspot to connect my laptop, but while it connects to the network, there's no internet access. I heard that the university might have some sort of a service in place to block sharing or tethering, and I was wondering if that's true. Is there any way around this so I can use the internet on more than one device without constantly disconnecting and reconnecting? It's really interrupting my workflow!

Have you thought about just reaching out to your university's IT department? They usually have the lowdown on the network rules and might offer some alternatives instead of just telling you to get another account. It can be a hassle, but at least you'll know what you're dealing with.

Yeah, but in my country, dorm internet is super expensive. I doubt they'll help with anything other than making me pay more.
