Why are my international calls being answered by someone else?

Hey everyone, I'm a bit puzzled here and was hoping you could help me out. I'm somewhat tech-savvy, but I'm running into a strange issue with my phone. When I receive calls from outside my country, they are being answered by a completely different person. My mobile carrier thinks it's bizarre and is looking into it.

It's odd because I can receive calls from within my country without a hitch. I've checked my phone settings and made sure that call forwarding isn't turned on. What's even weirder is that when I called my own number from France, it worked perfectly fine, but when I tried from Spain, it went to someone else instead. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for any insights!

I had a similar issue before, and in my case, it was because the callers weren't using the right dialing format. Make sure they are entering your number correctly, with the country code.

I understand your confusion! Have you considered that there might be a glitch with your carrier’s international routing? Since it seems to work fine from certain countries but not others, it might be worth pushing your carrier for a deeper investigation.

Make sure that whoever is calling you is dialing your full number, including the country code and area code. Sometimes, the format can throw off the system, especially for international calls.
