Hey everyone! I recently took the plunge and built my first PC, and I asked ChatGPT for some recommendations. While everything it suggested sounds good in theory, I'd love to hear actual human opinions to make sure I'm on the right track. My budget is around 2000€ and my main focus is video editing and color grading for 10-bit 4K footage in DaVinci Resolve, along with some occasional gaming (like GTA and Counter Strike). Here's what ChatGPT recommended:

- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 9 7900X (12c/24t) — ~€330–400
- **Motherboard:** B650 (ATX) — e.g. Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX — ~€150–200
- **GPU:** NVIDIA RTX 4070 (Founders/AIB) — ~€600–770
- **RAM:** 64 GB DDR5 (2x32) 5200-5600 — ~€220–300
- **Storage:** 1 TB PCIe-4 NVMe for system/cache — ~€90–130
- **Project Storage:** 2 TB HDD or SATA SSD — ~€50–80
- **Power Supply:** 750 W 80+ Gold modular — ~€150–175
- **Case:** ATX mid tower — ~€60–100
- **CPU Cooler:** 240mm AIO or good air cooler — ~€60–100
- **Extras:** cables, assembly, thermal paste — ~€30–50

What do you all think? Any insights would be super helpful!

I think your CPU choice might be overkill. For video editing, an 8-core CPU would probably serve you well. If you were doing 3D rendering, then maybe 12 cores would be beneficial, but it doesn't seem like that’s your focus. The Ryzen 7800X3D could be a good alternative. Also, when it comes to storage, forget about getting an HDD. SSDs are way more affordable now and make a big difference. If your budget allows, aim for 6000 MT/s RAM. Buying used can save money too!

While it seems like ChatGPT gave you a solid list, it does look a bit dated. I actually ran some specs through another tool, and the newer parts are definitely worth considering. Opting for a good NVMe with DRAM is crucial. The Samsung 990 Pro is great for price-performance. Regarding the PSU, make sure you get a reputable brand; it’s really important for stability. And don’t skimp on the cooling! For AIOs, there are some great options out there that are reliable.

Honestly, your build looks pretty solid! The only odd part is the RTX 4070. Have you considered checking out the newer parts like the 5070 and Ryzen 9000 series instead? Also, if you're going for RAM, try to stick with 6000 MT/s C30 for better performance. And by the way, you probably don't need to buy extra cables or thermal paste since those usually come with the components.
