Hey everyone! I'm having a frustrating issue with my laptop where it just won't connect to certain websites. I've tried changing the DNS settings and followed various tips online, like adjusting Google settings, but nothing seems to work. The strange part is that I can download games on Steam without any problems, yet I can't load pages like The Guardian or even Facebook. Any idea what could be causing this?

It might be a problem with your antivirus settings. Try disabling it temporarily and see if that allows you to access the sites in question.
Have you tried connecting your laptop directly to the router with an Ethernet cable? Once you do that, it might let you update your network drivers seamlessly.
Sounds like your laptop might be having issues with secure connections, not the internet overall. Check your date and time to make sure they're right, clear your browser cache, and ensure your network drivers are up to date. Also, see if your antivirus or firewall is blocking secure sites.
Any chance you're using a VPN or similar privacy tool? If not, have you tried using a different browser or incognito mode? That can help with add-ons that might be causing issues. Also, resetting your network settings might be worth a shot.
To get a better grasp on the issue, could you let us know:
- What error are you seeing when trying to access those sites?
- Is this a home, work, or college connection?
- Which operating system are you running? It’ll help in troubleshooting!

1. The error reads, "This site can't provide a secure connection."
2. This is a home Wi-Fi connection.
3. I'm using Windows 10.
