Are There Any Reliable Email Clients Out There?

I've been searching for a decent email client to use instead of relying on webmail, but my experience has been frustrating to say the least. I've tried Thunderbird, but it feels really slow and cumbersome, and not very useful unless I manually start it every time. Geary crashes immediately when I attempt to add an email account, and Evolution gives me bad request errors when connecting to Gmail. The Elementary Mail app won't even work on my KDE setup since it struggles to retrieve account info. Bluemail is so sluggish that it makes loading my biggest blender file feel fast, and Clawmail's interface seems stuck in the last century. Is there any email client that actually performs well?

Honestly, I just stick with GMail in the Brave browser. Since I need to be online to check emails anyway, using the web is totally fine for me. Plus, it keeps everything on Google’s cloud instead of cluttering up my drive.

That’s what I do too! But it’s a bummer that mailto links don’t work correctly. I was hoping to find a good alternative.

I’ve been using Evolution for a while now and it handles multiple accounts smoothly, including Gmail. Just a heads up, you’ll need to set up two-factor authentication for Gmail, but once that's done, it works great! It's been solid on Fedora, Mint, and even my Raspberry Pi. There’s a nice overview of it [here](https://www.zdnet.com/article/finally-this-is-the-linux-email-client-ive-been-hoping-for/).

I tried going through the login process multiple times and just couldn't get it to work on both Flatpak and the distro version. I get that it works for you, but it’s not functioning for me.

You might want to give Mailspring a go, although I had a bit of a hiccup with their login process since it requires a Mailspring ID, which feels unnecessary for just wanting to check emails. Still, many find it nice once set up!

I tried to log in too, but couldn't get past that screen. It's kind of a hassle for something that should just let you access your mail.
