Do I lose emails sent to my Apple ID if my iCloud storage is full?

I recently signed up for a StockX account using my Apple ID, but I noticed the last email I received in my iCloud email was from 2017! I'm kinda worried because I had not set up email forwarding until now. Are the emails sent to my Apple ID just lost, or will emails still get through? If I just set up forwarding to my main Gmail account, will I receive new emails, or do I need to clear out my iCloud storage first?

Wait, so you haven't checked your Apple email in ages and just realized it? That's a long time! If you signed up for something through Apple, usually any confirmation emails should go to your Apple ID email. It's likely that the confirmation email from StockX is just sitting somewhere else. Have you checked your spam folder just in case?

Yeah, when you sign up with your Apple ID, emails will go to that email. But don't worry if iCloud is full; your email delivery and iCloud storage are separate issues. Just be sure to check both your Apple email and your main Gmail account. If everything's set up right, any new emails should be forwarded to your Gmail from now on!
