I recently visited smyths.com to purchase something for my sibling, and while browsing, I encountered a warning from a security scanner called Imperva that suggested I might have malware. Is it possible for malware to affect my iPhone?

It sounds like what you're experiencing is more likely a phishing attempt or some outdated ads pushing unnecessary security apps. iPhones are generally pretty secure against malware.

Thanks for the reassurance! I've been pretty anxious about it.

Exactly! It's probably a false alarm from Imperva, which is a security tool on the website, not something that's detecting malware on your phone.

What you're seeing might just be scareware or adware trying to trick you into falling for a scam. iPhones can't get hacked unless you deliberately install a malicious configuration profile. If you’re still worried, enable two-factor authentication on all your accounts with new passwords for extra security. Also, just a heads up, Imperva is actually DDoS protection software, not antivirus.

I appreciate the info! I was really considering getting one of those antivirus apps.
