I'm trying to upgrade my PC to Windows 11, but it looks like I need a new motherboard and CPU. My current setup has issues with compatibility. I'm not sure if Intel is still a good choice after last summer's events. Right now, I mainly play League and some lighter games, and I'm looking to spend around 500-700 CAD. Here's my current build: [https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dh77xH](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dh77xH). What should I be considering?

It sounds like you might actually be able to run Windows 11 on your current CPU. Check your BIOS settings to enable PTT (Platform Trust Technology), which is the TPM 2.0 feature built into your 9th gen Intel CPU. Also, make sure Secure Boot is enabled. That could solve your upgrade issue without needing a whole new build!

Double-check that your boot drive is formatted to GPT; that’s crucial for Secure Boot to work properly. Once you have your BIOS settings adjusted, you should be ready to install Windows 11 without any major hiccups!

Before jumping into an upgrade, make sure to update your BIOS first. It’s key to enabling Secure Boot and TPM settings. Also, you might have to disable CSM in BIOS for everything to work smoothly. As an extra step, make sure your Windows license key is ready, so you won't run into any hassles during the upgrade.

What exactly is stopping you from upgrading? If it's the TPM issue, don’t worry! Since you have a 9th gen Intel, it should support the integrated fTPM feature, but it might be turned off in BIOS. Try enabling it and running the Windows 11 compatibility check again. Honestly, I've even installed Windows 11 on older systems just to keep them running temporarily.

Yeah, I get that! Every time I try upgrading, it tells me I'm missing the TPM. I’ve also been thinking about getting a new CPU because mine struggles with high usage all the time. I might hold off until I can save more cash though.
