I'm on the hunt for an Arch-based distribution that would be a good fit for someone transitioning from Windows. I want to learn about Arch, but I need something welcoming and not too overwhelming. Just to clarify, I'm not interested in using Manjaro.

If you're set on trying Arch, I suggest checking out Garuda or CachyOS, especially if you're into gaming. Some users have had good experiences with them, just make sure to back up your system regularly with tools like Timeshift to prevent issues down the line.

Reborn OS is worth trying too, and it lets you experiment with different desktop environments. Just weigh out your needs; if you don’t really need Arch-specific features, some other distros could save you a lot of hassle!

Totally agree! Sometimes user-friendly options are just better for everyday tasks.

Have you thought about trying EndeavourOS? It has a pretty friendly setup and might be a good start for you. Plus, if you go with the KDE Plasma desktop, it feels more familiar for Windows users!

Yeah, I've heard EndeavourOS is great for beginners! I think it could really help ease the transition.

Honestly, if you're looking for something easy to use, I’d recommend sticking with something like Mint or Ubuntu. They're super user-friendly. You can always install Arch in a VM later on to get comfortable with it without the pressure.
