I've built a gaming PC with an Intel i5 11600K, an RTX 3080, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 850W PSU. Even though I realize it's somewhat CPU-limited, I'm experiencing lag in games that I wouldn't expect to be an issue. For example, I'm only getting 90-100 FPS in Fortnite at 1080 or 1440 with performance settings, and the game struggles to load properly. Additionally, I have a Moza racing sim, and when playing racing games like BeamNG, I'm only getting 60-70 FPS at medium settings in 1440p. Any suggestions or tips would really help as I'm still fairly new to PC gaming! Just to note, nothing's overclocked.

Just a heads up, Fortnite can be pretty demanding, especially with all the visual effects turned on. I've found my 3080 performs better with DirectX 12 instead of DirectX 11, even if the FPS isn't much higher, the game feels smoother overall with fewer dips in performance.
I get around 90 FPS too when using DX12, but it often feels really choppy.
Those games are quite CPU heavy. Try upping the graphics settings to levels that are more GPU intensive. If you're CPU-bound, maxing out the GPU can help relieve some pressure from the CPU.
I've tried increasing the settings to 1440p and higher, but it either got worse or stayed the same.
Just so you know, BeamNG can get really performance-heavy if you have traffic on. With my 3080, my fps doubles when there's no traffic. Maybe try that for a test.
I don't have traffic enabled. Even spawning a truck and trailer drops my FPS below 60 at 1440 medium settings, and dropping to 1080 doesn't seem to help.
Are you sure V-sync is off? And make sure your display cable is connected to the GPU and not the motherboard. This is a common mistake. Also, if you're on WiFi, that could introduce lag; wired is usually better.
My internet speeds are solid, about 250 down and 350 up, so I don't think that's the issue.
Yeah, I have it directly connected from the GPU to my monitor, and no V-sync. I'm using a 27-inch 1440p 240Hz monitor.
Have you checked if your games are installed on an SSD or a traditional hard drive? Loading times can vary a lot based on that, and using an SSD generally gives a smoother experience.
Yes, they're all on an SSD.
I tried DX12, but it made my game almost unplayable, even on low settings.
