Looking for UPS Replacement Options for APC SMT2200

Hey everyone, I'm an IT manager and currently using an APC SMT2200 Line-Interactive UPS in our server room since 2017. It's powering some critical devices like an HPE ProLiant server, a Comcast router, a Fortinet firewall, and a few switches. The setup performed well during the last power outage, but with a new ProLiant server and Meraki MS-130 switches on the way, I'm thinking it's about time to replace the UPS too. Should I stick with a comparable line-interactive unit, or is it worth it to invest in an online or double-conversion option? I'd love some recommendations on what to look for!

Have you checked out the SMT2200C? It's a compatible model. Just a heads up, if you have multiple devices with two power cords, you might want to consider getting two UPS units just to be safe.

We always opt for double conversion units, and our go-to is the Eaton 9PX. They are fantastic and worth every penny. If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, line-interactive options like the 5PX are decent too.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'll definitely consider Eaton for the new setup.

We've made the switch from APC to Eaton, specifically using the 5PX 3000 in our branch offices, and I can definitely recommend them. They’ve performed really well for us!

I had an SMT2200 setup too, and the power quality is awful at my site. It's surprising it's still operating well! Let me know what you decide on with a replacement!

Honestly, replacing the batteries might be a quick fix. Those mid-2010s units are quite reliable if the batteries are fresh. I'd suggest giving them a shot before going for a new unit.
