Is $550 a Fair Deal for an MSI Shadow GTX 5070?

I think I stumbled upon a pretty good deal. I'm looking to upgrade from my 1070 since it's been running strong for about 7 years now. I'm hoping to find a graphics card that can keep up for another 5-7 years. Ideally, I want to game at 1440p with 60+ fps for a bit. What are your thoughts on the MSI RTX 5070 12G SHADOW 2X OC being priced at $550?

Honestly, you likely won't see any prices under MSRP for a while now. Maybe around the holidays they'll throw in a junk game or something to sweeten the deal.

You should grab it! It's at MSRP, which is hard to beat right now.

$550 is just the MSRP, so you're not getting any discounts. If you're serious about using this for 7 years, I'd suggest looking for a 16GB card instead of just the 12GB.

Does anyone really think their $500 gadget is going to last that long? I mean, I have a card from 7 years back and I know it's outdated. Paying $550 for 2 years of good performance sounds great to me. Plus, you can always sell it and upgrade to a 6070 later!

That's definitely a solid price in today's market! The 12GB might seem a bit limiting, but it’s not a total deal-breaker.
