Can I Upgrade to 4 Sticks of 6000MHz RAM on AM5?

I just put together a PC with a 9800X3D and currently have 32GB of 6000MHz RAM (2x16GB Patriot Viper Venom). However, I'm maxing out the RAM and need more. Is it okay to just add two more sticks of the same RAM? I've heard there might be compatibility issues with AM5, but in my previous AM4 build, I didn't run into any problems. What should I expect?

Remember, unless you're running benchmarks, you probably won't notice much difference if you have to reduce speeds for stability when using four sticks.

Definitely, just start at a lower speed like 3600 and gradually test to find what your motherboard can handle with the new sticks.

There's a video that touches on using four sticks at 6000MHz. It won't be definitive, but it's related. You may be able to tweak RAM timings to make it work, but it could be more cost-effective to save up for a higher capacity 2x matched kit instead. From what I've read, mixing four sticks on AM5 could lead to timing issues with DDR6000—slower speeds, potential EXPO problems, and maybe even system instability. Have you considered what you're doing that requires over 32GB of RAM?

If you're lucky, it could work, but that's not very common at those speeds. If you really need more, consider selling your current kit and investing in a 2x24GB or 2x32GB setup instead.

You might need to lower the RAM speeds to keep everything stable if you go with four sticks. A safer bet would be to grab a 2x32GB kit instead to avoid potential issues.
