What’s the Best Way to Choose a Small IT Company for My Business?

I'm looking for advice on how to vet a new local IT company for my small business. I prefer a company with a local presence, as I've found that relying solely on Yelp and Google Reviews isn't very reliable. My last IT provider was great until they were bought out by a big, faceless national company that only operates online. They've provided little support beyond sending monthly bills, and I want to give my business to another smaller local company this time. We're located south of Los Angeles, and I could really use some guidance.

Have you thought about creating an internal IT position instead? It sounds like you're paying your current managed service provider (MSP) for services that aren't really helping you.

I'd love to, but the owners are not on board with that idea.

One great way to find a reliable IT company is to get referrals from other businesses that are similar to yours in size and industry. They might have had good or bad experiences that can really help you make a choice!
