I just booted up my PC, and while my Ethernet was working long enough to start an update for my Samsung SSD (which is just for games), the update failed and now my Ethernet seems completely disconnected. I've tried swapping out cables, using different router ports, uninstalling drivers, and checking for updates, but nothing seems to help. I'm currently using the latest drivers from the ASUS website. My Windows IP configuration says "media disconnected." The Wi-Fi works fine, and I can get Ethernet through a USB adapter. Am I looking at needing to RMA my motherboard, or is there another solution I can try?

Have you considered resetting your motherboard's BIOS to factory settings? That can sometimes clear up weird issues. Just curious, is this a custom-built PC or something pre-assembled? And if it's built, how old is the system? Also, which operating system are you on? If you check your device manager, do you see any unrecognized devices? Let me know!
Sounds like there might be an issue with your network interface card (NIC). It could help to open up your computer and make sure everything is connected properly. Also, take a close look at the NIC port for any visible damage. That might give you a clue about what's going on.

I'll definitely think about resetting the BIOS as a last resort, but I really had to tweak a bunch of settings to get my system stable. I put this PC together about 3-4 months ago with all new parts, and up until now, everything was working fine. Also, I'm using Windows 11 Pro, and I don't see any unknown devices in the device manager.
