I'm currently running an Intel 12400F with an Asus TUF Gaming B660M motherboard and an Arctic Freezer e-sports 34 cooler. I've had this setup for about three years and haven't removed the cooler at all. I'm considering upgrading to the Intel 14600K, and I'm wondering if I need to buy a pressure plate to ensure good contact with the cooler. One concern I have is whether the cooler's contact surface might have bent over time, which could make a pressure plate ineffective. What do you guys think?

Yeah, you definitely should consider getting that LGA1700 bracket! It's pretty cheap and super easy to install. It will definitely help improve contact between your cooler and the CPU, which can help with cooling performance. I recommend the Thermalright brand for it.
I've used pressure plates like that before. Just make sure to check the socket under your CPU for any damage before you install it. Better safe than sorry!
Absolutely, go for it! It will ensure you get the best contact when you upgrade.
Are you implying that using the pressure plate could damage my motherboard's socket? How would that happen?
