What’s a Good Use for an Old i3 Desktop?

I'm looking for some advice on what to do with an old HP desktop that has a Core i3-3220 processor. I've installed a low-end GPU and upgraded the RAM to 14 GB of DDR3, which is a bit of an odd number but it's what I had available. Some folks say that an i3 won't hold up much longer, and I'm curious about what operating system would be suitable and what I could set this machine up for. If you have any questions or need more details, feel free to ask!

I'd recommend trying out Linux Mint. It's super user-friendly and not too demanding on system resources. Also, the desktop environment matters a lot for older machines—XFCE tends to be lightweight. You might want to check out Linux Mint with XFCE for the best performance.

That sounds promising! I already have a desktop, so I'm debating whether to use this one for retro gaming. Do you think it would handle that well?
