Hey everyone! A few weeks ago, I bought a used Kanjinet KJ-CAMIP1MX2 Smart IP Camera from a friend who had it at his store. I didn't think setting it up would be this challenging, but here we are. I managed to connect it using Ethernet, but I'm having a tough time getting it to work over Wi-Fi. Right now, I can only access the footage locally on an SD card, which isn't great since I want to monitor my place while I'm out.
The camera seems to work with the YCC365 Plus app, but I'm limited by what that lets me do without paying for cloud storage. I followed a YouTube tutorial to link it to my phone without the QR code (which I still couldn't scan correctly) but using public Wi-Fi or mobile data doesn't seem to let me access the camera remotely after I set it up through LAN.
I've tried to troubleshoot the best I can, and I'd love any tips or advice to make the Wi-Fi connection work, or at least to find a way to access the footage when I'm away from home. I appreciate any help you can offer!

You could also explore different apps to see if there's one that is compatible with your camera. Sometimes video protocols are standardized, so even if YCC365 Plus seems limiting, there might be others that can help you view the feed live without needing to be home. It might take some searching, but it could save you a ton of hassle!
Make sure your Wi-Fi is on the 2.4GHz band because many of these IP cameras only support it. If that's good, then you might be dealing with an issue related to how your camera connects to your home network remotely. When you're home, everything works fine since you’re on the same network, but once you leave, you're on a different one, so you can't access the camera directly over mobile data. You might need to set up port forwarding on your router or consider using a VPN so your phone can access your home network from anywhere. Both options have their pros and cons, so choose what works best for you!
Thanks for the suggestion! My Wi-Fi is indeed 2.4GHz, and it seems to work fine when I'm home. Setting up a VPN sounds like a good option; I’ll look into that.
That’s a great idea! I’m not sure what else is out there, but I’ll definitely check it out and see if anything works better for me.
