I'm considering a budget-friendly gaming PC build that includes a Ryzen 5 5600 CPU and an RTX 5060 Ti GPU, paired with 16 GB of RAM. I want to know if this combination would perform well for gaming at 1080p. I'm particularly concerned about whether the CPU might bottleneck the GPU.

This build is decent for budget gaming, but you might want to think about going with an AM5 setup instead of sticking to AM4. It could give you more longevity and better performance in the long run.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it at the current prices. The R5 7600 paired with an RX 9060XT gives you way better bang for your buck. However, keep in mind that the 9060XT can be a bit tricky with FSR 4 for some games, so you might have to do some tweaking to get it to run smoothly. Overall, it's more efficient, but it could require more effort than you might want to deal with.

I recently put together a system with a Ryzen 5 5600 (non-X) and a 9060XT for a friend, and it runs flawlessly at 1080p—often hitting over 60fps on high settings.

I've got a similar setup with a 5800XT and the 5060 Ti, and it performs really well, even at 1440p. Most of the time, the games I play are capped by the GPU, so it holds its own nicely.

I built a Ryzen 5600X with a 6750XT for 1440p gaming a couple of years back. If you're planning to build in 2025, I'd steer clear of AM4 though.

I build a lot of AM4 setups since they’re cheap right now due to the shift to AM5 and DDR5. You won't face any bottleneck issues with the Ryzen 5 5600 and 5060 Ti. They've been great performers, and I find good deals often!
