Hey everyone! I'm currently living in Norway, but I met this really cute person while I was in the US and I might have messed up my phone number when I gave it to them. In Norway, our phone numbers start with +47, and I thought I typed it correctly when I entered it into their phone. However, I didn't realize that the third digit I added was actually the area code, removing the all-important '+' sign! Now that I'm back home, I'm worried they can't reach me because the area code is missing. Can they still call me or text me without it, or have I just ruined my chances? I'm feeling a bit desperate to figure this out!

International dialing can be tricky! Just remember, the '+' sign is important for letting their phone know it's an international call. In Norway, your number should look like +4791234567. If they didn't include the '+', they won't be able to reach you at all. So, if they saved your number as 4741234567, that might not work. Make sure they know to enter it correctly! Good luck, you might still have a chance!
For sure, formatting can be confusing but it sounds like they might not have saved your number right. If they did save it as 1477, that's a real area code, but it's not a valid one for what you need. Just let them know the full number with the correct format, and they should be able to reach you. If you can text them, that could help clear things up!

Exactly! If you've got their number, shoot them a text to confirm. They should be able to see your message come through and realize there was a mix-up!
