Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows 11, but I'm confused because the installation assistant says my Intel i7-9700k isn't compatible. I know that Windows 11 supports all 8th generation and newer CPUs, but the 9700k isn't listed on their official compatibility chart. I'm not super tech-savvy, so I would appreciate any clarification on this! Thanks!

I've heard that Microsoft's compatibility page can be a bit misleading. Even though they list some specific 8th gen CPUs as unsupported, your 9700k is still good to go. It seems to be more about security measures rather than performance issues.
If you're feeling adventurous, you could also try using Rufus to bypass the compatibility requirements altogether. Just keep in mind that it might come with its own set of risks.
The i7-9700k is a 9th generation Intel CPU, so it actually falls within the compatibility range for Windows 11. It should work just fine! Just make sure your BIOS is updated for the best experience.
