What VM Should I Use to Start My Linux Journey?

I'm just starting out on my self-hosting adventure and I've decided to dive into the world of Linux. As a complete beginner, I plan to use a virtual machine (VM) on my Windows PC to learn the ropes. I'm particularly interested in Arch Linux because of its customizability, but I know it'll be a steep learning curve. I'm looking for advice on what VM program would be best for me and where I can find simple instructions on how to use and install it. I'll rely on the Arch Wiki and other resources for the main installation, but I just need to know which VM to pick and how to get started with it. Hoping this journey is both long and rewarding!

If you're using Windows 10 or 11 Pro or Enterprise, Hyper-V is built right in. Otherwise, VirtualBox or VMware should work great for what you're trying to do. For more specific advice, consider checking out communities focused on Windows or virtualization!

Thanks for the info! I'm on Windows 11 Pro, so Hyper-V might be the way to go. I appreciate the second opinion!
