I keep running into a 403 error on DeviantArt. The message reads: "403 ERROR - The request could not be satisfied. Request blocked. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner." It suggests I might want to check the CloudFront documentation if I provide content to customers. Has anyone else encountered this issue, particularly with configurations or something else?

I checked from my UK broadband and used a French VPN, and everything's fine on my end. Where are you located?
The 403 Forbidden error can result from a few different issues like being on a VPN, your IP making excessive requests, or it belonging to a known bot network. Unfortunately, if it’s a region block, your best bet is to switch your VPN or reach out to see why access is restricted in your area.
Are you using a VPN? That could definitely be the culprit here. If you are, big chance that's why you’re getting the 403 error.
From my experience, that 403 error typically comes from CloudFront blocking the request, rather than DeviantArt itself. There are a few possible reasons for this:
- You might be sending too many requests from your IP, which can trigger rate limiting.
- Hosting from a blocked geographical region or via a VPN/proxy could be a problem.
- There could be some settings within CloudFront that aren’t configured correctly.
You could try accessing the site from a different network or device, clear your browser's cookies and cache, or if you control the app, check the CloudFront access logs. It's usually a CloudFront issue!
It was working fine a few weeks ago, though.

Yes, I am using a VPN.
