I'm in the middle of building a new PC and I'm facing a frustrating issue with one of the PSU cables. I have an MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard, and there's a particular power socket at the bottom that's giving me trouble. I've tried to connect the cable, but while the left side fits in perfectly, the right side just won't go in. I've positioned it in what seems to be the only correct way, but it's just not cooperating. After a couple of hours of trying, I'm really starting to feel overwhelmed and paranoid about making a mistake.

It looks like you might be trying to fit a PCIe power connector into an EPS plug. Make sure you check the socket type on your motherboard, as they can be quite different. If you confirm where the socket is, I can help!
It's pretty normal to face this kind of issue; these connectors can be finicky. Just make sure you're lining them up right. Once aligned, they should click in nicely! It can be annoying, but just take your time with it.
Ensure you're aligning the shapes correctly. The square connectors go together, and the rounded ones should also fit into their respective spots. If it's not going in without force, you might not have it aligned just right. Check it again!
Could you let us know which motherboard you're using? It might help to see if the connector you're trying to plug in is meant for a different socket.
Yeah, it's the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi, and the connector is at the bottom.
You can refer to your motherboard manual for connector guidance. It's crucial for power management, especially if you're using a discrete GPU or planning to overclock. Check page 10 of the manual for more info!

There's only one way for the two halves of the plug to fit together, and I can't figure out how else to align it.
